Striped Valentines Day Nails

Tomorrow is February 1st which means it's 2 weeks left for Valentines Day. So I thought I would start doing Valentines Day design to inspire you so maybe you can find something to wear on Valentines Day.

So here is the first design of my Valentines Day designs.

Striped Valentines Day Nails by Elins Nails

To do this design I started with a light pink shade as my base. Then with a striping brush I did stripes on the nails in 3 different pink shades. Then with a dotting tool I made red hearts over the nails, and even added some red glitter nail polish over the hearts.

It was a pretty easy design, you doesn't need that much experience to do this.

The nail polishes I used is these -

Don't forget base coat to protect your nails.
Pink - Ciaté - Cutie Pie
Pink - H&M - City
Pink - OPI - Pompeii Purple
Pink - Gina Tricot - Candyfloss

Red - Claudia - All Red
Red Glitter - Ciaté - Enchanted Rose
Top Coat - Seche Vite

I hope you like this design and that you look forward to the next Valentines Day design.

Gellac With Cheetah Print Design

Did my friends nails today. Did some gellac on her with my Depend Gellack Kit. I even added a little design, so if the gellac does what it is told to do it she will have to wear it for awhile. So I hope she doesn't get tired of it.

Cheetah Print Gellac by Elins Nails

I did an easy and pretty design. Actually the same that I am wearing except different colors.

Cheetah printed is my favorite design, it's easy and doesn't take that much time to do and it always ends up good.

This is unfortunately everything for today. I'm so tired and need to shower before I go to bed.

But if you got any questions about Depend gellack kit just leave a comment!

Depend Gellac Kit

Yesterday I got my Depend Gellac starter kit in the mail yesterday so I just had to try it. I didn't have time to buy the gellac nail polishes so I just used a normal nail polish in the middle of the gellack base and top coat.

With this kit you get an UV-light, with timer and everything so you don't have to think about the time. Then the base and top coat and the before and after cleaner.

I thought it was really easy. It didn't take as much time as I thought it would do when I read the instructions.

This is my result.

Not really perfect, but practice makes perfect right? So now lets see how long this will wear!

Colorful Striped Nails

Here comes an new design that I have no idea what to call. It's a pretty abstract, and very colorful. Which I like, to light up the ugly gray weather outside. Really don't want more snow now.

The design is inspired by a painting I saw on instagram which you can find here.

To do this design I started with base coat to protect my nails. Then I painted all the nails with 2 layers of white to have a good base so I didn't have to use how many layers of the colors I used over it. Then when it was completely dry I took a brush and just started to doing different triangle shapes over the nails in different colors.

After some time when I finishes all the triangles in all the different colors, I took a striping brush and first painted black lines around the edges of all the colors triangles. Then I did lines inside the triangles.

I'm really happy with this design, it took some time but it was all worth it I think.

The nail polishes I used are these -

Pink - Essie - Splash Of Grenadine
Blue - Ciaté - Headliner

Swatch of Liquid Sand - OPI Can't Let Go

Todays nails and nailpolish I'm wearing is one of OPI's newest nail polishes from their Mariah Carey collection. There is something new with this polish because it's what they call liquid sand formula. This means it have a very special texture.

So far there is four of these and the one I bought today is called Can't Let Go. It's a really beautiful purple shade.

I don't really think the pictures give this nail polish justice. It's a really great polish. It dries to be like half matte and a little grainy.

I guess you can't wear a topcoat on this because the whole charm with it disappears. I just hope I won't get so much tipwear then, but I will have to wait and watch.

But this is totally my favorite nail polish right now. Something I could wear alone even tho I don't like wearing one colored nails.

But what you think of this liquid sand nail polishes?

Matte Nails

I'm really into matte nails right now. Yesterday after wearing this design for a day I decided to make it matte. I love matte nails when you get nail polishes with glitter in them like this design. To do them matte I used Essies Matte About You.

It's so much easier taking pictures of matte nails, just saying.

And here is a little comparison between shiny and matte -

Which one you like the most?

Gradient Cheetah Nails

Today I wanted to do something easy so I did something I really know how to do so I made a cheetah print design. But to do it a little funnier I added a gradient background to it all.

I did the cheetah prints with a dotting tool and the gradient with a make up sponge.

Cupcakes Nails

Todays nails is inspired by a cookie jar I got for christmas present. I like the print on it and thought it would be a good nail design.

Cupcake Nail Art by Elins Nails

I thought it came out pretty well, makes me really want a cupcake. I tried to match the colors as well as I could but I might have a lot of nail polish but I don't have every colors. I used one of the lightest green for the background, so I didn't have a green for the cupcakes so I made them blue instead.

Cupcake Nails by Elins Nails

I thought I ruined it when I added the black lines around everything. But on the cookie jar the lines are a little sloppy so I did them a little sloppy. But I think it ended pretty well anyway so I'm satisfied. Don't think it would have been much better if I did the lines perfect.

The nail polishes I used -

Base Coat - Isadora - Second Nail
Green - Sephora - Lime Cocktail
Brown - OPI - You Don't Know Jacques
Light Brown - H&M - Nude Dude
Blue - China Glaze - Kinetic Candy

Yellow - Ciaté - Big Yellow Taxi
Purple - H&M - Liberty Girl
Pink - H&M - City
Light Pink - Gina Tricot - Candy Floss

White - China Glaze -White Out
Red - Claudia - All Red
Black - Isadora - Gothic Black
